AI Expands Beyond Metros

Samsung is making artificial intelligence central to its India growth story. From smartphones to washing machines, refrigerators, and TVs, AI is being integrated into almost every category. By the end of 2025, AI-enabled appliances are expected to contribute a major share of Samsung’s overall digital appliances revenue in India.

On the smartphone side, affordable AI-rich models like the Galaxy A series are being tailored for younger consumers and families in Tier-2 cities, bringing premium features such as Circle to Search, smart battery management, and live translation into a budget-friendly package.

Making Smart Tech Affordable

Samsung understands that affordability is key for middle-income households. With this in mind, the company has expanded Samsung Finance+, a digital lending platform that allows buyers to access flexible EMI schemes, instant approvals, and zero-down-payment options.

This financing solution ensures that families in smaller cities can upgrade to AI-driven appliances—whether it’s a Bespoke refrigerator, an AI-enabled washing machine, or a Galaxy smartphone—without stretching their monthly budgets.

Festive schemes, such as cashback offers, zero-cost EMIs, and extended warranties, are designed to attract value-conscious customers who typically make big-ticket purchases during the festive season.

Retail Expansion in Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities

Samsung has recognized that physical presence matters in building trust. The company already runs hundreds of exclusive stores in smaller cities and aims to double this number by the end of 2025.

These stores, along with AI demo zones in multi-brand outlets, allow consumers to experience Samsung’s AI features firsthand. For customers unfamiliar with smart appliances, seeing AI-driven convenience in action—such as energy savings or personalized routines—helps overcome hesitation and boosts adoption.

Local Innovation for Indian Homes

Samsung’s research and development centers in India are driving product designs specifically for Indian consumers. From washing machines with “Stain Wash” modes for tough Indian conditions to refrigerators with AI Vision that recognizes stored food, these innovations are rooted in everyday use cases.

AI energy modes have also been developed to address rising power costs, allowing households to save up to 70% in energy usage without compromising performance. These localized features ensure AI adoption feels practical, not just futuristic.

Festive Push: Making AI Exciting

The festive season is a critical sales window in India. Samsung has launched aggressive campaigns offering cashback up to ₹50,000, zero-down payment purchases, free installations, and no-cost EMI schemes.

Special regional campaigns, such as festive offers during Onam and Diwali, aim to deepen connections with local communities. These promotions not only drive sales but also enhance brand visibility in areas where consumers are still transitioning from traditional to smart appliances.

The Bigger Picture

Samsung’s strategy combines three core pillars:

  • AI Everywhere – embedding artificial intelligence across smartphones, appliances, and TVs.
  • Affordability First – making upgrades possible for middle-income households with flexible finance schemes.
  • Local Engagement – expanding offline stores, regional campaigns, and Indian-specific product features.

This multi-pronged approach is already shifting consumer perception in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. AI is no longer seen as a premium luxury but as a practical, cost-saving everyday feature.

Looking Ahead

Samsung’s Tier-2 push signals how the company views India—not just as a premium metro-driven market but as a vast, diverse growth engine. By combining technology, affordability, and accessibility, Samsung is laying the groundwork for long-term dominance in smart living across India’s heartland.

As the festive season unfolds, Samsung’s success in these emerging cities may well determine how deeply AI becomes a household reality across the country.
