Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum resolution I can resize to?

There is no hard maximum, but extremely large outputs (over 20,000 x 20,000 pixels) may take extra processing time.

Will resizing down reduce the file size?

Yes. A smaller image has fewer pixels and therefore a smaller file size. The exact saving depends on the format and content.

Can I resize a GIF without breaking the animation?

Yes. Animated GIFs are resized frame by frame — the animation is preserved in the resized output.

What resampling algorithm do you use?

We use Lanczos resampling, which produces the sharpest results for both upscaling and downscaling.

Can I resize images for social media?

Yes. Common social media dimensions: Profile photo 400x400, Twitter header 1500x500, LinkedIn banner 1584x396, Instagram square 1080x1080.
